JENNY PENGILLY︎ JENNY PENGILLY︎

Jenny Pengilly is a multidisciplinary artist working across  learning, participation and social engagement.

Her work predominantly focuses on the medium of the ‘art workshop’ and the use of affective materials and making to facilitate play, experimentation, collaboration and mutual growth and exchange with children, young people, families, and adults. Jenny is interested in the interactions, conversations, processes and objects that emerge from these sessions and exploring how they could be creatively expanded.

Jenny is co-director of El-Warcha, a collaborative art and design collective working with different communities in London to improve their living environments. For the last eight years she has run the education programme at the Estorick Collection of Italian modern for schools, families and adults. Jenny has previously worked with Tate Kids Wellcome Collection, South London Gallery, Institute of Education and Chisenhale Gallery amongst other arts and community organisations.

In 2023, Jenny was the recipient of TACO!s CYP Publishing Residency, in partnership with Better Children’s Centres Abbey Wood and Thamesmead in which 294, 2-4 year olds, collaboratively explored how sound and making can further communication between staff and families.

Jenny is currently lead artist of BANG SPLAT WHOOSH!, an early years programme, produced by TACO! in partnership with Abbey Wood and Thamesmead Children’s Centres.

As part of her research, Jenny produces and hosts a radio show Experimental Tunes and Children on RTM.fm.
