TACO! OPENING IN CYGNET SQ

TACO! will be opening its new contemporary art space in Cygnet Square, adjacent to Southmere Lake at the heart of Thamesmead on the 9th March. The new space will enable TACO! to grow and further engage with our local context of Thamesmead and SE London.

Opening times will be phased in over the coming weeks as follows.

Designed by architects Manalo & White the new space comprises a full height gallery and event space, a café and bar with outdoor seating, and bookshop supporting artist and independent publishing.

The venue also incorporates a new broadcast studio for RTM.FM supporting the growth of the station and expanding TACO!’s offer to include a night-time programme of live performance and music events.

M&W's design for the space makes specific reference to some of the architectural interventions made by residents in Thamesmead's brutalist and modernist vernacular, using bricks as a core material for the space.
