︎ESTATES ︎ ESTATES ︎ESTATES
Estates is an ongoing research project with artists, communities and groups that considers TACO!’s wider context of urban regeneration in the surrounding estates of Thamesmead and Abbeywood, exploring its spatial politics, narratives, and histories.
Through a broad programme of walks, workshops, talks, exhibitons, screenings, broadcasts, print and publications Estates supports co-learning and exchange between communities, artists and audiences, in the collective re-imagining of alternative futures for community, the civic, homes, and green spaces.

Estates aims to reflect on the specific architectural and social conditions these estates, how the communties and people that live there, the ideas behind their design, the changes in public and private ownership, the tensions between regeneration and gentrification, community action and social justice, and what culture’s role is within a civic society.
