EcstaticDanceNumber.mp3 is the first public event of Chloe Langlois’ ongoing project - Hot Snakes. 

Bringing together musical numbers by Bob Fosse, tap dancing after school, religious ecstatic dance and loopy acid trips,  EcstaticDanceNumber.Mp3 is an attempt to reach Hot Snakes, through an altered state of repetition + duration.

Over the course of the evening Chloe Langlois, Qingqing Liu, John Anthony Thadicaran,Kate Mahony, Freiderike Steinert, Frank Abbot, and Wayne Burrows will each perform their own unique responce  to  Donna Summer’s classic-  'I feel love'.  


Hot Snakes is a devotional performance project conceived by artist Chloe Langlois. It takes as its starting point the artists attempt to interact and communicate with a Holy Guardian Angel from her childhood - the eponymous ‘Hot Snakes’. Chloe’s attempts take the form of monthly broadcasts, live to air performance events, and bar takeovers activating TACO!’s social spaces and interacting with audiences. Material generated throughout Chloe’s residency at TACO! will be used in the production of a film installation.


Chloe Langlois completed a BA at Chelsea College of Art, then worked in a betting shop for nearly eight years, moved to Nottingham, and returned to the compulsion of art making working with peers in art, comedy, and the occult. She completed an MA in Contemporary Art Practice: Moving Image at the Royal College of Art. Since  she has been trying to contact her Holy Guardian Angel, ‘Hotsnakes’, with mixed results. Looking at the messy and the magical in video and live performance, her interests lie in channeling, re-enactment, non-verbal communication, and collective euphoria.
