Join us for an evening of electronic music to mark the end of Hello Neighbours. TACO! invites 3 experimental music collectives to perform live within Gusty Ferro’s installation.
Using Ferro’s work as score, set, and sound source - experimental collectives M.E.L.T, Subphonics, and The Electronic Audio Club will perform live improvised responses.
Subphonics is South East London based free improv and sound art collective. They provide a space for experimental musicians and artists to collaborate and meet via weekly improvisation sessions. Valuing a community focus and public facing approach to experimentation, Subphonic aims to be non-exclusionary and non-hierarchical in its structuring. All members are engaged to actively propose and develop projects and ideas to have the backing of the collective behind them. The collective encourage new collaborators to come forward to work with them and participate.
M.E.L.T. is a collective of queer artists working with Improvisaiton and Electronics, founded by artist and educator Vanessa Michelis.
The Electronic Audio Club is a mutually supportive club providing a space for the curious to learn about electronics , realise DIY electronic audio projects and make their own instruments, amps, modules, synths, or speakers The group is run on an informal basis with an emphasis on learning new skills, knowledge exchange and peer support, and performs regulary together on improvised live electronic sets.
