Hot SNAKES! 🐍 CHLOE LANGLOIS 🐍

Hotsnakes is a devotional performance project conceived by artist Chloe Langlois. It takes as its starting point the artists attempt to interact and communicate with a Holy Guardian Angel from her childhood - the eponymous ‘Hotsnakes’. Chloe’s attempts take the form of monthly broadcasts, live to air performance events, and bar takeovers.

Hotsnakes is being created through Chloe’s research residency at TACO! In which she use RTM’s radio production and publishing facilities, gallery, event and social bar spaces to develop the project. Chloe will invite artist collaborators, friends, and strangers to ponder and contribute to the audiovisual occult that is Hotsnakes. Chloe’s experiments in live to air events and performances will generatate material to be used in the production of an artists film, and gallery installation.

What is this entity and what are its intentions? Do they mean Chloe , or us, good or ill? It’s all for you Hotsnakes!

Hotsnakes is curated by Dinosaur Kilby in collaboration with TACO!

Chloe Langlois completed a BA at Chelsea College of Art, then worked in a betting shop for nearly eight years, moved to Nottingham, and returned to the compulsion of art making working with peers in art, comedy, and the occult. She completed an MA in Contemporary Art Practice: Moving Image at the Royal College of Art. Since  she has been trying to contact her Holy Guardian Angel, ‘Hotsnakes’, with mixed results. Looking at the messy and the magical in video and live performance, her interests lie in channeling, re-enactment, non-verbal communication, and collective euphoria.
