Model Estates is a project by artist Nadina Ali in collaboration The Hundred Club. Children aged 5-12 and their siblings, parents and carers were invited to become developers, architects and builders, as we imagined our dream neighbourhood, playing with scale and materials, and thinking about what an estate built by children might look like.
What does a model estate look like, if children are the developers. What amenities does it have? What is prioritised? Who lives there? Who owns it? Who makes the decisions?
Drawing on the visual rhetoric of developers’ masterplan models, during 2024 The Hundred Club were invited to create their own model buildings during three workshops.
