RTM PRODUCERS WANTED ︎
We are currently looking for active volunteer producers with an interest in contemporary music and broadcasting to join the RTM.FM creative community and help develop the station, its activities, and audiences.
RTM.FM is a community radio station for art, culture, music and debate broadcasting online from a studio in Thamesmead, SE London. The station currently supports over 80 resident broadcasters from across SE London and the surrounding area, with a regular series of live one-off broadcasts by invited guests DJ’s and artists.
Managed and run by the artist-led arts space TACO!, the station is led by a group of volunteer producers who undertake the operation of the station and make decisions about its schedule, direction and activities. With a reputation for presenting experimental music and radio, RTM has it own hand built sound system with which it undertakes live events and parties.
Volunteer producers primarily support broadcasters in the production of their shows, and undertake a range of crucial activities, contributing to the culture and leadership of the station.
Key activities include:-
We encourage producers to play an active role in the life of the station and its growth. The volunteer role is flexible and can be worked around other commitments. Producers meet bi-monthly to form part of the RTM management group in selecting new content for the broadcast schedule from proposals, contributing to management decisions about the station and its activities, planning and producing live events both off-site and at TACO!’s new event space in Cygnet Square, Thamesmead.
BENEFITS
The role of Producer is voluntary, but essential to the running of RTM. Producers are at the heart of the RTM community, with opportunities for regular social exchange with other producers, station residents and artists.
In recognition of the role they play all Producers receive the following benefits:
Producers at RTM have a range of experiences and skills. We are open to people without any specific audio production experience, with training and support provided.

We’re particular interested in hearing from Producers who would like to support broadcaster studio access, live event production, or supporting the marketing, social media and website content production for the station.

- Liaising with and supporting residents and studio guest broadcasters
- Editing and proofing pre-recorded broadcasts for specific resident broadcasters
- Recording and managing live broadcasts in the RTM broadcast studio
- Publishing and distributing broadcasts on the RTM website
- Editing and managing content on the RTM website
