RTM SOUND SYSTEM

THAMESMEAD FESTIVAL

The RTM Sound System is a  project initiated by members of the RTM broadcast community. The system will have its inaugral public presentation at the Lakeside Centre, Thamesmead as part of the Thamesmead Festival 2021. 

The system was built over June 2021 with the support of artist Dani Smith, with the speaker build forming the core foundation of a community sound system that will be added to over time through further workshops and opportunites for people to get involved.

For the Thamsmead Festival DJ’s from the RTM community will be playing a range of sounds from Afrobeat, Dub and Funk to Techno, Electro, D&B and Juke.   Special guest Dub Plate Pearl will be playing an hour long set.  More details tbc. 

The project has been commissioned by  Three Rivers Bexley as part of the Three Rivers cultural programme, with time and space need for the production of the speakers supported by Bow Arts.
